In 1983, I commissioned this Mandolin to be built at the Yairi factory. I was working for Washburn at the time and wanted an F2 style mandolin with a vanish type finish and real abalone soundhole inlay. They built 2 M9SW's, one for me with ornate fingerboard inlay, and one for West coast Fingerstyle Guitarist, John Standefer with dot inlay. The mandolin is solid wood, has slightly bigger frets, nice straight neck with low action and beautiful tone. It is crack free, and in great condition. It will come with the Fishman pickup and the really well made, square case that has a few bumps and scratches from normal, careful use. This is a wonderful heirloom quality, one of a kind instrument!
