Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Telecaster Custom '62 reissue in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. This "Made in Japan" Telecaster is a rare model, meant only for the Japanese domestic market, and features a three-tone sunburst finish with aged white binding on the top and back of the instrument for a classic Fender look. Officially model TL62B, this guitar is a very recent Fender Japan Tele with sparingly little cosmetic wear and even an upgrade "ashtray" chrome bridge cover. The stock single coil pickups deliver plenty of top end cut and chime, with focused low end and plenty of roundness from the neck pickup in particular. The guitar weighs in at 8lbs 2oz and has a crisp acoustic tone that translates well through the pickups. The twang and articulation of the tone is also vastly improved by a set of upgraded brass saddles that make sure the Tele zing is present without being brittle. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Tele is strung with 10-46 strings and has low, slinky action. The one-piece maple neck profile has a quintessential medium C shape, with fairly slender shoulders and a very manageable and fast feel. The profile has an amber gloss finish that feels great on the palm, as well as some faint figuring along the bass side edge of the profile and gorgeous grain along the entire neck. The slab rosewood fretboard boasts Fender's traditional 7 1/4" fretboard radius, with a 1 5/8" nut and vintage style fretwire that is immaculate. The perfectly rounded fret crowns make for an effortless playing experience, with no buzzing or dead spots up the neck and the ability to bend beyond a full step high on the neck without fretting out. On the headstock, the Kluson style Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well. All of the stock electronics work as they should, and the chrome hardware is spotless. The "Pat. Pending" bridge plate, knurled metal knobs, top hat switch tip and three-ply mint guard round out the aesthetic touches for a proper '62 reissue. Cosmetically, this guitar has seen sparingly little use since new, with a few light pick marks in the pick path and a stray faint finish scratch or two in the clear coat, but that's truly about it. It's as nice a Tele Custom as you'd expect to see on any showroom floor, and a desirable reissue rarely seen outside Japan!A Fender gigbag is included.
