Your chance to own a piece of electronic music history.This Roland TR 909 Drum machine is a powerhouse, the real deal and is currently owned by Utah Saints. This was the backup machine, which Utah Saints bought in 1994 from Blancmange, who had big hits in the 80s. It has been based in Utah Saints' Leeds studio and used on many tracks and remixes. It was also lent to techno legend Jeff Mills when he played a Leeds club show a few years ago. The machine is in fully working condition and the Midi works well (It is not fitted with the EPROM V4 upgrade chip) and all the outputs are working fine. It would probably benefit from a service as a few of the volume pots on the individual channels will slightly crackle when turned due to the age of the unit but other than that all the sounds and pots work well.As soon as you hear this machine playing it sounds amazing, and is the original authentic sound used on so many tracks. Add to that the history of this particular machine and there is a real story with it!
Only reason for selling is that it hasn't been used for a long time as it is the second machine, it is a waste for it just to be sat in the studio and it needs to be used by someone who will really appreciate it!The only things that have been replaced are the power supply cable which is not the original one and the cover on the battery on the reverse of the unit has been replaced with a metal plate as shown in the picture. The battery pack works and it comes with the M-64C memory cartridge. The Cartridge is the original one that came from Blancmange when it was purchased and is still labelled with the 1985 Album programmes (cannot guarantee these programmes are still on here though as have not tried to load them). It does not come in the original packaging and does not have a manual (This can be downloaded easily on line). Please be aware that this machine is vintage and over 30 years old, so will have some cosmetic marks as a result. However, it has been well cared for! Please look carefully at the pictures and short video clip below, so you can see the condition. Please also ask if you require any further pictures.Any questions please ask.
