Pre Santana single cutaway Yamaha SG45, 1973Here  a rare example of a single cutaway Yamaha SG; these guitars were produced during a short period in the early 1970s, in the run up to the famous SG175 and the later well known SG-2000. This Yamaha SG45 is the entry level Yamaha SG of the single cutaway model range model. The guitar is in good condition and is built from high quality materials. The finish is quite simple and in general the finishing of these early SGs was either natural wood, dark or light. The guitars are pretty and the translucent varnish allows you to see the beautifully crafted wood surface.  The sound of these vintage gems is outstanding with the vintage pick ups that are quite hot. This one sounds as good as the acclaimed SG175, a full warm sound and a wide tonal variety between neck and bridge pick up.  Guitar is all original and comes with original Yamaha leather gig bag.
