As a guitar enthusiast, I've kept this Taylor GC8 in phenomenal condition since the day I originally purchased it in 2008. It has been played gently over the years, and always stored in its hardshell case in a climate controlled setting. It's been "my baby" – a present to myself I splurged on back when playing meant everything to me. I purchased it from a Guitar Center in Philadelphia for $2,598 (plus the hardshell case: $200). It has no damage whatsoever anywhere on the body, sound hole, neck, stock, fretboard, machine heads, etc. The sound and smell are the same as the day I bought it. I'm selling it now, because I rarely ever play anymore, unfortunately, and would rather have the money for travel. Taylor has discontinued this guitar – referring to it as a "legacy model". To use a car analogy, this is the garage-kept Porsche being sold by the car nut who sadly doesn't have time to drive it anymore..
