Thanks.-----------------------------------------------Selling a few of my rarer EVH Wolfgang guitars. I'm not a dealer, just a private collector. I've bought and sold dozens over the years, always top-ratings and a customer-first approach to those who appreciate the rarity and evolutionary design of these guitars.This is a USA-made PEAVEY Wolfgang Special prototype with both volume and tone knobs. You may know production Specials only came with a single knob for volume, this includes Custom Shop Specials as well. The quick way to tell a Wolfgang Special made in the USA vs the Korean EXP is the serial number - stamped into the wood = USA, black print = Korea. This one is stamped.The former director of the PEAVEY Wolfgang Custom Shop in Leakesville, MS stated in an email "I did about 8 of these. Everything looks legit down to the initials of my girl who did the wiring." He could not verify how many actually left the factory as they weren't available to the public and were normally destroyed or dismantled to recycle the parts. I can attest I've been following Wolfgangs for 20 years and have never seen another of these.Date - unfortunately Peavey Wolfgang serial numbers don't correspond to specific dates. Specials were introduced in 1998 and the custom shop closed in 2004, so that sets the overall date range. However this one is documented to have been made in the Leakesville custom shop, which would = Jan 02 to Apr 03 (before the shop was moved to Meridian).
Even without the collectability factor, the sound versatility of tone control on a Special makes this incredibly rare.Condition:- very good original player condition, I understand this is subjective so I will accept returns within 7 days if I've misrepresented in any way- color appears white, but it's actually a cream/ivory that may have become more off-white with age- there are several small surface impressions that do go slightly through the topcoat, but are difficult to detect due to the light color- no chips, cracks or buckle rash- moderate fretware and neckware- excellent electronics- includes an extra set of used german-made Schaller tuners that normally came on Wolfgang Standards and Customs. Unsure if these were originally on the guitar and switched out, but included either way - although not currently attached, includes the original EVH Floyd Rose bridge with drop-D tuna, tremelo arm and spring kit- includes original PEAVEY manual, tool kit and hardshell caseFree lower-48 ground shipping. Will ship to HI, AK or international for actual cost. Thanks for looking
