This listing is for a Grossman Guitars prototype Rick Rozz model. This guitar was built for Rick to his specifications and it is the only one that was made to my knowledge. Rick played this guitar somewhat but was very careful with it so it's still like new. I believe it was used for some of the Death To All memorial shows (aka DTA).  This guitar has a lot of nice features: it is a neck thru body with a solid mahogany modified Explorer style body with a flamed top. I think the fretboard is ebony. It has dual active EMG pickups and an Original Floyd Rose tremolo. The neck is fairly slim with big frets, it feels great and plays very well. It is currently tuned to C and strung with 12's. Rick specified that the guitar have some beef to it, and it weighs 9+ lbs. This allows the guitar to get the deep CHUNK all Metal players require. The truss rod cover has both Rick and Grossman's name on it and there is a "ROZZ" inlay at the 12th fret. I got this guitar directly from Rick R. He told me that he was very happy with the instruments he received from Grossman, but it was difficult working with a luthier located in Romania due to shipping, etc. So he decided to work with a US based company instead. This Explorer is the prototype for what was to be the Rick Rozz signature model and it is the ONLY one, so its kind of rare and cool. Be sure to check out all of the pics, one shows Rick holding the guitar in my living room. This will be a great guitar for any Metal player and an excellent addition to any collection of prototype or signature guitars. Grossman's website can be found at www dot grossman.roRick Rozz was a founding member of Extreme Metal band Death, along with Chuck Shuldiner, and he played on several of the early albums. Rick also founded the band Massacre. Both bands are highly regarded by Metal listeners all over the world and they are considered to be very influential even today. I believe Massacre is touring again, be sure check it out!Rick had a super heavy duty touring road case built for this guitar which he wanted to keep, so I located a decent rectangular tolex hardshell case for it. I had to remove the foam from the interior off this case, but it will protect it for shipping. Feel free to contact me with any questions and I will be adding more pics soon.
