A fine antique french violin made by JTL after Klotz circa 1900.Fine antique french Mirecourt violin made after Matthias Klotz circa 1920. The choice of woods is excellent, with a top made of a single piece of spruce of beautiful narrow grain lines. The back is made of two pieces of nicely flamed maple, the curl vey slightly descending from the center joint. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The oil varnish, of the purest quality, is of a brown color and entirely original. The work is superb, the purfling precisely inlaid, the f holes nicely carved, and the violin even kept its original rosewood pegs. The pattern is slender, the body is rather elevated in the Klotz style, with a very nice edges work that can also be seen in Laberte works. The violin was made in copy at the time with a varnish slightly darker to the center of the table.The violin is in an excellent condition, without any crack, just a few scratches on the varnish on top and some wear to the same at the center of the back. Body length : 362 mm.Upper bouts : 166 mm.Middle bouts : 111 mm.Lower bouts : 202 mm.The sound is superb, deep, mature and projective, responsive : a noble french concert instrument that will allow you the most complete repertory.The violin will be sent in a new rectangular case of quality.
