Yamaha SG-70( 1973/4 Red Excellent condition)On offer a rare example of a pre Santana Yamaha SG; these guitars were produced during a short period in the early 1970s, in the run up to the famous SG-175 and the later well known SG-2000. This Yamaha SG-70 is the top of the range model of the pre Santana SGs and is built from high quality woods and hardware materials. The finish was simple and the general finishing was either natural wood, translucent red or translucent black. The guitars are pretty and the translucent varnish allows you to see the beautifully crafted wood surface. The sound of these vintage gems is outstanding with the tow vintage pick ups. The sound is full on and ranges from a mellow bluesy tone to a powerful growl when played in slight overdrive on the Valve amp.
