Hello! Up for sale a very rare best... Ibanez AFR 205 Affirma from the early 90s. Only 1000 of these basses were made, 750 4 strings and 250 or a bit less 5 strings. There were three body woods available: Saman (similar to Mahogany), Figured Maple and Walnut. The Walnut bodied ones are pretty rare in 4 strings version and as you can guess, there are less than 100 in 5 strings version out there. The AFR was designed by the gifted swiss luthier Rolf Spuler, who sadly passed away 3 years ago. The bass is in very good conditions for its age... the screw on the truss rod cover isn't original and a small washer was added to the truss rod to make the neck setup easier and all-around better (so the nut has a better surface to press against). No modifications, it even has the rubber cover for the piezo trimpots on the back (it usually gets lost).Wide spacing, D shaped neck (flat and wide), it's certainly a bass that was way ahead for its time. Played (in a customized version) by Percy Jones and, if you look for it, by many pros around the world. It's got a magnetic pickup in the middle and piezo saddles with a balance pot to mix the two - and 2band eq.Sounds great, feels absolutely terrific and IMHO it's one of the best looking basses ever made (together with the first generation of the Thumb bass and a few others).Ships in its form-fitted hard case and an AFR depliant is included.I've sold a 4 strings version last year for almost 2000 bucks. Most of these basses were imported in Europe, so not many chances to find a nice one if you're in the USA or in Japan. The Walnut body has a purple shade in it... very very nice. You guys know the drill: I can ship worldwide by UPS for $130 (USA) and probably 180 to Japan/Australia. €60 within Europe.Payment by cash/other methods on pick up, bank transfer or PayPal.All of my feedbacks were earned selling expensive basses, so you can be sure you get what you paid for.I also have an account I used for buying (mainly parts for my bikes!) but for a mistake I started listing basses with that one by mistake but I'm keeping the listings running anyway.
