So check back on this listing soon.This listing is for an Early Crowley and Tripp El Diablo, the ribbon mic design that was so good, Shure wound up buying them out over a decade ago.Shure still makes the Shure 353/ED Ribbon mic to this day, it's still made in the same factory, by hand, supervised by most of the same people who worked at Crowley and Tripp.However, this is a cool early version with an awesome hard wood latched case, a luxurious Black Body and Gold Grill aesthetic.I've shot this mic out with every major ribbon mic on the market, but since it's built with Rosewellite, this mic is essentially indestructible. It can handle 143dB SPL!Basically, this is the only ribbon mic you could put right up on the beater of a kick drum, without it being in danger of damage.You will never have to replace it's ribbon, and Shure will still service pre-shure C&T mics without complaint, however the likelihood of damage is nill, unless you intend to run it over with a truck.The voicing of these mics is somewhere between a Sennhieser 421, Nueman 47 FET (Solid State), and Coles 4044, as all three mics were used as references when tuning it's curve.As a result, this is hands down the best ribbon mic I've ever used. Period.I keep this mic wrapped in plastic to prevent dust from affecting it at all times, and have done so since it's purchase in my smoke free, personal/professional studio.I will also make the time to add more photos if people request them.
