She weighs 9LB by my scales :) For 2016, Gibson are taking the Les Paul Standard back to the more traditional features that made it the ultimate rock'n'roll guitar, including traditional Grover tuners, Graph Tech nut and historic neck width.
A classic-looking Les Paul, with a versatile tone and playability that suits almost every player. Made iconic during the 60s and 70s, the Les Paul Standard has evolved over time to meet the demands of players around the world. Players that now need the convenience of Humbucker and Single-coil pickups in the same guitar will appreciate the split coil pickups on the Les Paul Standard 2016, great for effortless tone adjustments between songs. A pair of Burstbucker Pro pickups offer the raw horsepower for heavier rock, whilst retaining super-clear tone, making this ideal for metal heads as well as the classic rock and roll player. Dialling in the tone control will give you a nice blend between thinner, snappier tone and rich, sweet leads for blues and contemporary players. The Les Paul is truly one of the most versatile guitars we've ever seen! 2016 sees the introduction of a weight relieved mahogany body, to lighten the load a little, topped with a AAA flamed maple that really has to be seen to be appreciated. The 'Traditional' spec of this Les Paul Standard T pay homage to what made the original LPs so addictive to play - A Historic 1 11/16" neck width, graph tech nut and a classic Les Paul heel for easy neck adjustment.
