A superb old French certified violin bow by Charles Peccatte, 1880, NICE!
A superb old French certified violin bow made by Charles Peccatte ca. 1880 with an exception of a frog that is from the period and made by J.J. Martin. This is a wonderful example and outstanding playing bow with exceptional handling and tonal quality. It is in a fine state of preservation with some natural wear, suitable for a soloist or a leader of the orchestra.
The stick is medium brown pernambuco, round, strong with a fine balance, excellent handling and a solo quality, powerful sound. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The weight of the bow is 61 g and the length of the stick is 73 cm.
