This billet truly is exceptional as it has consistent figuring present on both of it's face and both of it's side edge that came from a premium veneer grade log.............Up for bid is for one (1) "Fiddleback Flame pattern, slab sawn cut/flat sawn, old grown Eastern Maple (acer rubrum), electric guitar luthier billet. This has a paler vintage yellow patina from storage, exceptional chatoyance with excellent figuring! It has excellent growth ring complimented by an excellent tap tone! LP single-cut halve outline ("A" & "B" side) for fit and visual reference. It is sapwood on the one face and mostly heartwood/ambrosia streaks. at the second face- would be ideal for a dark stain or a dark stain burst. There is a fine squiggle of mineral streak at the one side edge that is approximately 1.050" long and .175" wide (about .735" distance from the closest outside corner); this is shallow and will drop out as it is located at the neck pickup route cavity. Dimensions (approximate):21-1/16" long x 6-14/16-" wide x 2.060" thick (at lowest point). Old grown, air dried/kiln dried/ well seasoned (9-10 percent moisture content). Slab sawn/flat sawn cut. Sapwood one face/mostly heartwood with ambrosia streak second face. This will need properly acclimation to your shop prior to fabrication. Clear shellac/denatured alcohol mixed applied to the surface to help show color, grain and figure (if any). Photographed with exterior natural lighting conditions. Ends sealed with Anchor seal.
