1987 Hamer Chapparal hand built in the USA and case.  This is an amazing guitar and piece of history. Hamer were the first 'boutique' manufacturer, making high quality guitars for performers that can be used, transported, bashed around and still give. This is an awesome guitar and you can feel it straight away. Series 2 of the Chaparral with 25.5 scale, 24 fret, 5 way pickup selector, this was the first year these were made. Of course Hamer has changed now and not the same company, but you can still get a few of these knocking around for £700-£1200.  Solid mahogany body, rosewood fingerboard, and an original Floyd Rose.  I bought this guitar about 8 years ago and it was in a mess. The paint and lacquer all needed stripping back and so I had it as a project. I really wanted a US built quality axe but didn't have the money so this was a god send. I repainted it all in white with a bit of black edging (I should have used a thin wood filler too, it's not 100% smooth but not that noticeable) stripped the neck of paint and sanded it so it's silky smooth and added a skull decal. My painting isn't perfect and have done by hand the Hamer on the headstock. If you look closely you'll see it's not a decal but from a distance no idea.  I gigged the guitar for quite a few years and it's amazing. The neck pickup is a replacement from the previous owner but I've never needed to change it. The headstock has been broken at some point and you can see where from the pics. I took all the hardware off and put it back on without an issue though so it's solid. I tried to paint at an angle on the back to hide the crack but wouldn't have noticed it anyway!
If you want a hand built US guitar that will literally kick the crap out other axes, here you go. Repaint it if you want it's actually easy and good fun or get a new custom job! You'll not find a guitar of this quality for this price anywhere and you can make it your own.

When I repainted and sanded it the serial number was lost as it's just in the paint. I had researched before to find it's a 1987. I've tried to find a photo I had before starting stripping but no idea where it is.

The reason I'm selling is because it's been sat for years doing nothing. I don't play in bands anymore and I want to raise funds to do some traveling.
