Up for sale, a 1991 Gibson Les Paul Studio in excellent, 100% original condition and in good working order. Weighing in at 10lbs 2oz with a solid (unchambered) mahogany body and carved maple top, this guitar has a thick vocal midrange and plenty of sustain that translates well through the original humbuckers. The original 490R and 498T humbuckers with ceramic magnets have consistent and healthy output, measuring 7.8k ohms in the neck and 13.7k in the bridge, a pairing that balances shockingly well, despite the output readings! Professionally setup at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this guitar plays exactly as a good Les Paul should with low action, solid intonation, and classic Gibson tone.
The neck has a fairly slender C shaped profile with slender shoulders and a very fast feel. The fretboard is ebony, and while this hallowed tone wood is typically reserved for Les Paul Customs, it's present on this Studio and adds a certain attack and increased note definition. The original frets are in truly incredible shape, with perfectly rounded crowns and their full original height, showing only faint wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3 and virtually no wear up the neck. The nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width, and the face of the headstock retains the "Studio" truss rod cover. Present on the reverse side of the headstock, the original Gibson Deluxe tuning machines are present and turn smoothly with greened tulip buttons that have an authentic vintage look. All of the electronics work as they should, with untouched solder joints and original CTS pots that date to the 19th week of 1991. The stock hardware is all in great shape, with plenty of shine left on the chrome pickup covers, Nashville bridge, and tailpiece. Cosmetically, this guitar is very clean, with a few assorted nicks around the edges of the body and some light finish scratches on the back, but no serious wear of any kind! The original brown tolex Gibson hardshell case with pink interior is included. Please check out our shop "Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar" on the web, and feel free to call us directly with any questions at 206.399.8518.Shipping in the continental USA will be $60, fully insured and shipped via FedEx Ground.
