a lightweight travel banjo featuring:
A full 26-3/8 inch scale lengthHeadless design with protected tunersBolt-on neck is easily removed for transport without toolsDisassembles for travel in under a minuteFits in standard 20" carry-on suitcaseSix inch head A full sized banjo can be a real pain to take along when you travel; you've got another heavy item to carry, and you're risking costly damage by baggage handlers. Other travel banjos force you to compromise your playing with a reduced neck length or alternate tunings, and they still don't fit in your suitcase. The Tranjo is designed to give you full size playability in a suitcase-sized instrument. The full-length neck detaches in seconds, without tools or string removal, to fit into an 18" carry-on suitcase or backpack. The  walnut hardwood body and neck and give you a true banjo sound, while the rugged construction and recessed tuning pegs keep your Tranjo from becoming "road kill". You'll want to take it everywhere, but it's a great practice banjo to keep at home or in the office, too!I took this particular instrument to India with me on a trip involving lots of bus travel.  I played the instrument a lot.   It was easy to pack.   I actually found that it was small enough to carry in my full size suitcase without breaking it down.   It has a great sound for a 6" head.  The instrument shows some wear.  There are a few small dings in the body.  The neck is clean and the tuners are solid. The head has a few pieces of cosmetic icing missing but is otherwise in good shape.  This was one of the first Tranjo designs made by it's inventor, Sam Farris in the USA.  He leased the rights to make it to Gold Tone which now makes new ones in... you guessed it...China.   New ones with a few improvements from Sam,  cost $900.   It has a small storage compartment in the back suitable for an elastic capo and finger pics.   I am moving to a much smaller accommodation and don't' use it much any more.   It's priced to sell.   Includes copy of User Manual.I have a 100% positive approval rating on eBay gained from selling and buying numerous high dollar items.   You can buy with confidence.
