Though primarily known for their iconic violin basses, Hofner has long been a well respected maker of numerous stringed instruments. The current series of Verythin guitars can't be beat for the price. Great fit and finish, top notch construction, easy playing and just all around well designed.All the little ingredients of the CT Series Verythin guitars add up to quite a package. Start with the trademark thin and semi-hollow body. Nice and light and superbly balanced. You get a touch of the fat sound of a hollow body but with added sustain of the solid spruce center and glued in neck. The twin humbucking pickups can nail just about any tone you might be chasing, from warm blues and jazz to cutting rock tones. The necks have a comfortable medium profile that most players will be right at home on.It's hard to deny the looks of the Verythin. This one has a great gloss jet-black finish. The entire guitar is bound, including the headstock which along with the fingerboard feature some very stylish inlays.
