A Really stunning and increasingly rare example of the very best of vintage Japanese guitar making. This is a remarkable clone of the Joe Pass Gibson es175 and is one of the proper ‘Lawsuit’ guitars. It originated in Japan (Fujigen/Matsumoku) and was produced between 1970 and 1974. It has a three piece mahogany neck and is Tobacco Sunburst in a Nitro-Cellulose finish. There is some cracking in the lacquer but this is common and doesn’t affect playability or sound …….. kinda adds to the patina and looks. It plays beautifully and easily matches, even beats, Gibson models of the same era. Greco didn’t start using serial numbers until 1975 and another distinguishing feature of pre 75 models is the fact that the ‘r’ in Greco looks like an ‘n’ so it actually looks like Gneco not Greco. The tune-o-matic bridge has been replaced by a Rosewood one but the original is included. Any trial welcome call 07730 409841 to arrange a private viewing Part Ex or Trades welcome.
