Email or call for an appointment*Andy Baxter Bass & Guitars Ltd 152-154 Hoxton Street, London N1 6SH **By appointment**** This Guitar has an Indian Rosewood fingerboard and therefore does not require a CITES certificate for sale/shipment within the EU. Guitars made with Rosewood species listed on CITES Appendix II and EU Annex B do not require an Article 10 Certificate to allow commercial use within the EU. This Bass would need an export certificate for shipment outside the EU. We can supply the export certificate for this bass for £125 on top of the purchase price upon request **1964 Hofner Senator Bass with a staple type Hofner pickup, Cherry Sunburst finish and a Tortoise shell guard. Serial 1537. All round great condition, the headstock has a few tiny dings around the edges, the body and the back of the neck are in excellent condition. All original and complete with the exception of the case and a rewound pickup.Originally produced as the 500/3 in the late fifties, it took Hofner's London-based distributor, Selmer's of Charing Cross Road, to introduce model names and thus baptise this f-holed beauty. When the standard control plate was dropped in favour of surface mounted controls and the body depth was reduced, it was given the name Senator, bringing it in line with the guitar.The binding is intact, the frets are good and the electronics work as they should. The neck is straight and there is plenty of room in the truss rod. The bass is fully set up with a set of d'addario flats and has a great action and equally good tone. The weight is 4lbs 13oz.
