This vintage 1972 Marshall "Popular" 1930 delivers classic Marshall tone, forthrightness, presence and sheen. It does so in a 1 x 12 combo that you will LOVE to record with in the studio. It'll take pedals quite well but honestly the infamous tone that comes from hitting this amp with a set of humbuckers will be enough to please even the most uptight tone junkies. This amp is ideal for crunchy rhythm. Lead playing sounds very good as well but it doesn't generally get loud enough to consider playing your average gig with an amp this size ( it would do very well however at smaller more intimate gigs where it can be properly mic'd ). The tremolo sounds wonderful. It's warm and it's dynamic without stepping out in front too much. If you read about these amps you'll see that some people claim they have a bit of noise at lower volumes or hiss. While this is true to a degree it is equally true that once the amp is cranked up this background noise is no longer an issue. This is a great vintage amp to add to any collection.Item DetailsThis amp is a European model ( 220 volt ) The amp has some non original features though it still houses its original transformers and footswitch. Some capacitors have been replaced as expected with an amp of this age. This amp puts out 10 watts of all British valve power.Overall ConditionThis 1972 Marshall "Popular" 1930 is in very good condition. This amp works as is should with no issues. There are some replacement parts which is not uncommon for an amp this age. The tolex and grill cloth are very clean which you can see in the photos. If you have any questions please be in touch. This is a great amp to add to any vintage collection.Specs•1972 Marshall "Popular" 1930•10 Watts•1 x 12" Combo•Vintage Celestion Speaker dating to July 1971•Original Footswitch - operates Tremolo•Original Transformers•Serial # 51392
