This listing is for a quality handmade 4/4 professional level LABERTE violin bow made circa 1950. The previous owner has had the bow since 1963. The bow was recently assessed by Peter Horner of Bromptons. This particular bow also has a valuation dated 23 April 2013. I will include this with the sale. This valuation reads as follows:A French, Mirecourt-manufactured violin bow from the Laberte Humbert workshop, stamped "LABERTE" on the stick above the frog and "FRANCE" on the underside of the stick by the button.The round, pernambuco stick has a worn, brown-coated thread lapping with a black leather collar, and a long, black leather thumb grip; the fully-lined, ebony frog has plain pearl eyes and silver mounts; the three-piece button is of silver and ebony; the bone tip face has lost its upturn.Weight: 62.1 gramsValue for insurance: $3000 Prior to delivery,I will ensure the bow has a good rehair and the upturn is replaced at no additional charge.
