Only a handful of these ultra-rare, ultra-special Gibson ES-335s were built and only for the 1999 Jim Beam holiday promotion. From the very limited info available I believe there were less than 20 ever made. This is number 6. This ES-335 is stunningly beautiful and extremely rare. The art on this 335 is really, really cool! Everyone that sees it absolutely loves it. They keep pointing at its various artistic touches. I have never seen anything else like it. It's so visual that you can almost hear the party going on! The "holiday promotion" artwork is festive in a Mad Men sort of way without referencing any particular holiday. It's good for any holiday or, for that matter, any day you want!This 335 was built in the Gibson Custom, Art & Historic shop and is among the best of the line. It plays great but would also look fantastic behind a bar, in a man cave, or anywhere else you choose to display it. From the Certificate of Authenticity: "Gibson Custom, Art & Historic. Jim Beam Brands ES-335. The instrument bearing the serial number shown below is a genuine Jim Beam Brands ES-335 custom guitar. This remarkable instrument is specially painted to resemble the unique design used by Jim Beam Brands during its 1999 holiday promotion. The instrument was proudly built by Gibson's Custom, Art & Historic Division, where a select group of artisans carry on the company's century-old tradition of creating, exquisite investment-quality instruments. This instrument is in remarkable condition considering it's 18 years old. I only see a wear spot on the pick guard, what appears to be a fingernail scratch and some very minor surface checking consistent with its age. To the casual observer it would look more-or-less brand new. Includes deluxe Gibson USA plush lined case, warranty folder, case lock instructions and Certificate of Authenticity suitable for framing.
