Description

(please note that due to the fragile and irreplaceable nature of this item, it will be double boxed for shipment!)THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE FINEST ORIGINAL SURVIVING EXAMPLES OF THIS RARE AMP. IT HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED AND IS ALL ORIGINAL INCLUDING THE VERY GOOD CONDITION ORIGINAL CANVAS COVER.   This is a rare amp to find at all but even rarer in this sort of original owner untouched condition, absolutely NEW to the market, never before been offered so if you collect guitar gear,,here is your virgin 397K!   Its even got the original dust under the handle! I didnt even dust or detail it properly for the photos, sorry.Take a look at how nice this amp looks for its age!   The original leather handle is intact.   The tweed covering shows a few minor raised spots but overall is excellent and needs no restoration, it displays BEAUTIFULLY.   This has 2 1/4" inputs on the back which both seem to work. All 4 tubes lit up and glowed, i tried to take a photo to show all 4 lit but it was very hard,,the 3rd tube from the left is less bright than the others but is absolutely working,it didnt show the glow as well as the other 3 tubes in my photo.  There is a volume knob on the back but i dont know if that still works,it spins around 360 degrees with no stop, but still might work? i offer no warranties on vintage gear, and i didnt test that,i dont own a guitar, i used a mic to make sure that sound came out and that the speaker isnt blown. I am happy to report that: Sound came out using each input and the original ROLA speaker is not blown. :) Thats all i know so am selling "as is" because i am not an amp tech or guitar player, but its not DOA for sure!!   I bought this from the original owner along with the Hawaiian Lap guitar that i will be also be listing.  He received this amp new around 1943 and took lessons for a year before putting everything away until it was re-discovered this week.  You will be the first collector to own it and i am quite sure that it will make a really nice display piece. Its one of the fancier looking amps with the cool reticulated art deco style grill logo.     I tested it only as far as plugging it in and seeing if it would make any sound. I didnt test for quality!PLEASE TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THE PHOTOS PRIOR TO BIDDING, THANKS!
