So that the problem can be resolved. Thenextitemwehaveontheblockis,,,,,,,,,,, Trader-BOB's MUSIC on FACEBOOK, offers a VEGA "SENATOR" banjo. Serial number 71491, according to mugwumps is 1930 production. The numbers match on the neck and the pot. An interesting modification someone made, adding a 6th "d" string, as a drone. Makes it an interesting sound, as it is played. The 6th tuner matches the regular four string tuners, no idea how long ago this was done. Also added were "Jewel Inlays" in a pattern to the headstock. This banjo is as I received it. The neck has a bow in it. 10-7/8" , 5 Star synthetic head. Looks like someone had a resonator on it at one time. Compensated bridge. One of the hook nuts does not match. Not sure if the tailpiece is the original. The neck bow is saveable, by removing the fretboard, and routing the neck for either a carbon fiber rod, or an adjustable rod, with the adjuster end at the heel.
