This classic horn is a very neat piece of early 1960s American trumpet history. From the makers of the famous Holton line of trumpets, here's an original 1963 vintage Holton Galaxy USA trumpet in very good used condition. This is a silver colored trumpet, which is actually lacquered nickel. The entire trumpet is nickel silver except for the valve casing, which is brass. The finish has some average wear on it consistent with age but still holds a nice shine (please see pictures). This trumpet was well maintained by the previous owner. Bell is engraved with "HOLTON GALAXY ELKHORN, WIS. U.S.A." surrounded by a nice fancy engraved pattern. The serial number is 365XXX which makes this a 1963 vintage horn according to Holton serial number charts. This trumpet has buttery smooth quick valves with the valve plating in good shape. Holton's valve pistons have proven to be one of the best in the brass industry. All slides are free and have just been lubricated. The only dent worth mentioning is a crease at the edge of the bell rim (pictured). This trumpet features a fixed 3rd slide ring, traditional lever water keys, and mother-of-pearl finger buttons. The Holton Galaxy trumpet is known to be open blowing horn with a centered tone with a nice smooth scale. It's really a joy to play and a fine example of this model. This Holton Galaxy comes with its nice original hardshell black Holton case, which has working latches, a mouthpiece slot, a nice roomy side storage area for accessories and another smaller accessory compartment. You also get a clean mouthpiece, so you can start playing this trumpet right away. This Holton Galaxy trumpet is ready for a new loving home.
