Here is an all time classic. The D12 dynamic microphone by AKG. Mainly used for kick drums and bass cabinets, it's no slouch on a range of other duties. This mic sounds excellent, with none of the low frequency loss that can afflict D12's. It covers the range and has a good strong output. It is a vintage mic of some 40+ years so there are some issues:-1. This is a later 'plastic frame' model (serial number 72668) and it has the common complaint of cracking. This one has been repaired and the join seems stable and due to its location near the base it does not cause an issue to the integrity of the mic. The usual reason that this happens is that the screw on the stem tilt is over tightened and as the mic is repositioned too much force is used and the damage occurs. I have lubricated and adjusted the screw and it is set just right. I would advise it be left at this tension.2. The rear (black) basket has a slightly flattened area on the top leading edge. It does not effect the full working of the mic and is just cosmetic. It could be reshaped from the inside however the mic still has the factory seals over the access screws and it seems a shame to disturb them just for that!So apart from that the mic is in very good vintage condition and sounds just like it should. It comes in its original case with 3m cable that terminates to an xlr plug. Please see my other listings for more studio/music equipment.
