Here is a vintage Vox AC30 Top Boost JMI amp for a great price. It is circa 1965/66. I purchased this amp from a well known UK dealer in vintage Vox and other Brit amps and it was sold to me as a 1965. Voxes can be a bit hard to date precisely so I am saying a 1965/66. The amp was professionally recovered in period correct tolex by the UK dealer. He also replaced the grill cloth with period correct Vox cloth. He specializes in restoring Voxes. As a result, the price is lower than a museum piece so if you want all the Vox tone at a reasonable price, here it is! The amp has 2 vintage Celestion alnico speakers. They are gray as you can see in the pics though many experts will say the gray and blue alnicos sound identical. I have both in various amps and can tell no real difference. Since the photos were taken, I replaced the filter caps including the two large can caps shown on the main circuit board photo. This is a needed maintenance item so consider it a savings to you! I have and will include the original caps that were replaced. As well, the power switch was replaced and the AC cord replaced. I will include those original parts also. The amp includes the tremolo footswitch which is the original. How does it sound? Like a good Vox AC30 TB should! Very punchy and very loud. Like most old amps, you do get some noise and occasionally some pops and crackles. I have found that is consistent in all the vintage Voxes I have owned. If, however, you want a brand new silent amp, this is not for you!Some info:Chassis serial number 05156Serial number on back plate on back of amp 61855High bidder to pay in 3 days please.
