These guitars were instantly sold out with no more than 150 VOS guitars made for the world. No doubt Japan always gets the very best guitars that Gibson Custom builds and this one is no exception.  Only 150 total production 58 Mark Knopfler VOS Les Paul’s were made and this one was built out on 12/29/16 and is factory fresh. It is a precise replica of the 1958 Les Paul Standard that Mark bought in the mid 90’s as he was looking to change up his sound and spruce things up. This is the guitar that is heard on countless hits and accompanied Mark on the some of the worlds biggest stages.  This guitar has all the upgraded specs and features the long neck tenon, taller frets, custom wound PAF pickups, nitro cellulous finish, hide glue construction with the finger board glued to the neck with hide glue, neck glued to the body with hide glue, tubeless truss rod, light weight aluminum tail piece, 1 piece solid light weight mahogany back, exact neck profile to Mark’s original, solid Indian rosewood finger board, and Gotoh deluxe tuners. This guitar plays and sounds incredible and the pickups have great clarity and are very powerful. The high notes are nice and chimey and low end is clear as a bell with no muddiness. The taller frets make it a joy to play and bending notes is effortless. Its nice and light and has a nice dark chocolate brown finger board.
