This listing is for both the Akai EWI 4000s wind synthesizer (which comes in the pictured Protec case) AND the Yamaha VL70-m synthesizer module with the Patchman Turbo VL chip installed. The EWI is in great condition, it was purchased about 5 years ago directly from Patchman Music, so it has the updated sound library already loaded onto it (these sounds are much more interesting and usable than the factory ones). It also has Matt Traum's hardware settings, which make the instrument more responsive and intuitive to play. Works perfectly, no damage to the bite sensor, has not been played very extensively. The VL70-m is an entirely different instrument when the Patchman Turbo chip is installed, and it really has some amazing sounds. My favorites have been the muted trumpet (dead on Miles Davis), the tenor saxes, all of the electric guitars, and the electric basses. You can simply connect the EWI to the VL70-m using a midi cable and then plug in headphones or an amp and you're ready to go. The casing on the VL70-m is just a little road worn, but it's still very strong and it works perfectly. I've seen the Yamaha unit by itself listed for this same price before, and you can't even play it without a wind controller. So don't miss out on this opportunity to pick up a complete rig for a great price!
