Hello Welcome to our eBay Listing!!!!Please check back weekly!!! We will be adding new listings each week!!!****Re-List due to a non-paying buyer****This is a Holton Farkas model Double french horn, The Bell is Nickel Silver, some of the tubing sections are brass, and some tubing sections are silver. The Lead pipe is a custom lead pipe with no identification.
We contacted the good people at Holton to help us out identifying this one, and to their surprise this one even had them puzzled, this horn dates back to (1975), but Holton said that they had no one at the company who had been there long enough (pre-1975) who could identify it, but here is what they suggested it could be:
Early Version Merker Matic Series
Custom Made-To-Order Model 180
Custom Made-To-Order Model 179
This listing is for a Used Holton ??? Farkas Model Double French Horn serial number 535298 . This horn does play ( however we are not good horn players), it has a custom lead pipe, all valves moves freely, and all slides moves freely. This french horn has some lacquer/silver plating wear, some dents & dings, scratches, and some soldered repairs, as common with school band instruments. This double french horn came from a school band, so please expect some wear and tear, being that this item was once used by students. Also comes with a Nice Used (SKB) Case, case is in good condition. no mouthpiece. As with all used band instruments, a good cleaning and set-up wouldn't hurt. It would make a good practice instrument or more. Compared to what this item sells for New, this is a bargain price for this used instrument .
Only Texas Buyers pays 8.25% Taxes.****Thank You for stopping by smith_of_texas, be sure to check our other items for more band/musical instruments!!!****
