Rechtzeitig zu Ostern, aber ohne lange Ohren. Unverbastelt, unverbaut, kaum gespielt, sehr gepflegt!

Pelham Blue gibt es oft nur bei viel teureren Modellen. Ich spiele zu selten, brauche ein wenig Taschengeld für andere Projekte und verkleinere daher etwas meine Sammlung. Neben meiner neueren Goldtop hat diese LP Special spürbar mehr Output und den oftmals gewünschten Druck in den Mitten, mit denen sie sich auch in lauten Nummern sehr gut durchsetzen kann. Bist du Blueser oder Jazzer, such eine andere. Bist du (Hard-) Rocker, nimm diese hier!! Klanglich hat sie den definierten Druck, den man für knackige Nummern braucht. Enormer Output führt auch starke Amps in gewollte übersteuerung. Unverstärkt ist sie kristallklar perlig, hat keine Verstimmungsprobleme (der Sattel ist demnach einwandfrei), die Bünde haben keinerlei Abnutzung, hier sieht und hört man die Qualität, die man von Gibson erwartet. Neupreis 2011 = $ 1.499 USD Die Les Paul Junior wurde schon 1954 vorgestellt und fand neben den hochpreisigen Modellen viele Fans einer ehrlichen Rock'n'Roll Gitarre. Oftmals wurden nachträglich statt den serienmäßigen P-90 Pickups dann Humbucker eingebaut, um einen druckvolleren Ton zu erzielen. Hier hat Gibson nun also vorgesorgt und aus dem Junior Modell eine "Special Humbucker" Edition gemacht. Die klassischen Zutaten bleiben: Mahagony Korpus mit eingeleimtem Mahagony Hals im Slim-Taper Profil. Dazu ein Griffbrett aus fast schwarzem Obeche Hartholz. Die gewölbte Ahorndecke wurde weggelassen, wie sich das gehört für eine Junior. Es gibt auf der Rückseite eine Ausfräsung fürs "Bäuchle", so schmiegt sich diese Paula auch bei schlanken Menschen besser an den Körper an. Als Pickups kommen ab Werk die druckvollen Original Gibson 490R in der Halsposition und der heißere 498T an der Brücke zum Einsatz. Der 490R hat einen Alnico 2 Magnet für cremige, volle warme Töne und der 498T einen Alnico 5 Magnet plus mehr Wicklungen für den extra Druck in der Lead Position. Der Hochglanz Nitrocellulose Lack in Gibson-typischem Pelham Blue hat diese feinen Metallic-Partikel, die die Gitarre unter Scheinwerfern so schön schimmern lassen.
