Here at GMW Guitarworks, we've been experimenting with various skull based graphics in order to advance the ball with this long established graphic that's ubiquitous (widespread, or universal) in the world of guitars, cars, motorcycles, clothing, and tattoos. This particular graphic is based on a single offset skull design that was applied over a burnt copper type background. A mild gold color shift pearl was also added over the skull to enhance its shine and reflective properties once direct light is applied to the surface of the graphic. The candle flame was enhanced as well using a similar procedure. The text is hand written, and background texturing effects have also been added. The sample guitar consists of a 1980's single pickup, 22 fret electric blue Charvel "Fort Worth" Model 2 strat that was upgraded by removing the original Jackson JT-6 standard trem and 1/2" inserts, and replacing the Jackson unit with a new Floyd Rose Special bridge plus a set of 25/64" diameter Schaller inserts. A photo for a Charvel Model 2 guitar has been included at the conclusion of the auction photos. The original Model 2 guitar also came equipped with a Jackson JT-6 bridge, and NOT the Floyd Rose Special trem shown in this listing. However, the original Jackson J-85 pickup was retained, and since the frets were in excellent shape, no additional work was performed on the fingerboard or frets beyond cleaning/dressing those two items. The guitar plays great, and the frets are in fantastic shape, so no additional fret work should be required by a new owner. Finally, the original rear cavity plates were replaced with new factory plates, a new 500K CTS pot was installed, and a new black football side jack plate and 17 mm black strap buttons are included with the guitar. The guitar now looks and plays as well as any Made in USA Charvel, so the new owner should be a very happy with all aspects of this GMW custom graphic based project. We no longer need this sample guitar for advertising purposes, so it's being listed for sale. The guitar has NOT been used or played since being finished and photographed. Therefore, there are no dings or scratches in the body paint. To more easily summarize the work performed on this guitar, the following routing and refinishing work was performed first on the original Model 2 guitar. A second chart below then lists the new or NOS parts used to complete this superb instrument. A final Spec Sheet follows at the conclusion of the listing. A "near new" black gig bag is included with this guitar.
