This is one of my Fuzz Face rebuilds. Occasionally I take custom orders from customers who have a recent Fuzz Face and want it rebuilt to original Arbiter (and later Dallas Arbiter) specifications. So, this is a Fuzz Face enclosure which has been completely gutted, stripped and then professionally refinished. The finish on this one is by a local professional airbrush artist. The photos should show all you need to know. This one off has black edges into a kind of green-burst, beautifully done and to a deep gloss with several layers of clear coating and highly polished. The text is in black (edge shaded for some of the main lettering). The circuit is accurate to a vintage original late 1960's Fuzz Face with a carefully selected set of very hard to find NOS silicon button transistors. These are early silicon devices that I have collected over the years and work very well in the circuit. This is a fairly high gain fuzz, capable of of standing with the hottest of vintage Fuzz Face's. However, in doing so it never loses its old-school vintage character, whatever your settings. The Fuzz dial works well throughout the range, even some of the lower gains and it reacts well to adjustments from your guitars volume, including clean tones. Plenty of bite to get your fuzz tone heard and it has more volume than a vintage unit.The base plate is custom made and is an exact replica as you would find on an original early 1966 Arbiter England Fuzz Face and includes small rubber feet. The plate has my Works/custom screen-print.Jack sockets are by Cliff UK, the true mechanical bypass switch is by Carling and the potentiometers are Citec UK. All internals have been replaced, 100% handmade and tuned by me, Steve Williams. None of the parts within the donor case are used.
