This Model 4 Fox Bassoon has a terrific sound and excellent tuning due to the stability of its long bore design. Close your eyes and you won't believe that it's not a wooden bassoon. It is owned by a female senior citizen and has been pampered. It was used only a few times as a back up for a Fox model one bassoon. The plating is 100% perfect. With all the modifications and condition this bassoon is better than new!
Special features are: * Ring Key on the left-hand C (Not covered like in the student models) * High D key * Yamaha Hamilton plated (Goldplated) high note Bocal which has been specifically matched and paired for this bassoon. It sounds terrific and the high notes come out with amazing ease. There's no sacrifice and sound in the bottom notes. * One Fox **CVX** #2 bocal which came standard with the instrument * A Heckel style (custom installed) hand wrist/guard instead of a standard crutch assembly. (See photos) It is much more comfortable. Never lose your crutch or have it drop to the floor! * An extra guard over the alternate right-hand C-sharp Trill-key. * A zippered and padded bassoon gig bag It has been recently gone over by the renowned bassoon restorer Nicholas Evans in the New York City area. FROM THE FOX WEBSITE: Mechanism:18% nickel silver key castings. Nickel silver hinges and machined parts. Full German system with high D and E keys. Rollers on F, Ab, Eb, and Db keys. Metal tubes extending into the bore in the finger holes of the wing and boot joints to prevent water from entering the tone holes. All posts are set with epoxy and spring posts are locked with screws. Body: Polypropylene, hand finished. Body lock. Accessories: seat strap. Intonation: A-440 plus or minus one cent, covering all notes. (Measured at 72 degrees F.)
