The protective plastic is still on the back control cavity plate. The main issue on this instrument is that the finish has become slightly cloudy over a considerable area of the instrument. This was most likely caused by humidity (moisture) developing behind the finish. The consensus is that this should remediate itself over time if stored in a dry climate or with some type of silica gel desiccant. But as in life, there are no guarantees. The finish is a nice Cherry Sunburst finish on a beautiful quilted maple top with faux maple binding and gold hardware. The frets are in excellent condition.The guitar has a very nice action and the Mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard set off with flame maple binding feels fantastic. The Seymour Duncan pickups have a good tone and output. Using a 5-way pickup selector teamed with master volume and tone controls you get a nice selection of humbucking and single coil tones. The tone control is a push/pull giving even more tonal options. The guitar is equipped with piezo bridge saddles that add great acoustic sounding tones to the mix. The guitar is equipped with a tune-o-matic style bridge, stop bar tailpiece and Sperzel locking tuners. Overall this is a high quality extremely nice looking, playing and versatile sounding instrument. The back of the headstock has the hand written serial number. Includes the original Moore hard shell case.
