Gold Tone's Rigel type, mandolin GM-A Rigel with little circulation in the country has arrived! Speaking of Gold Tone, banjo is famous, but in addition to banjo, it is a musical instrument manufacturer that manufactures all kinds of musical instruments indispensable for American music, such as Gibson style flat mandolin, Resonator guitar and so on. This arrival is a unusual body-form GM-A. This mandolin called Rigel type is a unique mandolin that features a streamlined body form that is horrible, and its characteristics also appear in the sound!
Spruce single plate cutout TOP, maple veneer SIDE & BACK, maple NECK, measured 28 mm nut, 348 mm scale A type mandolin. Both types with PU and without PU seem to be made with the same specifications, end pins are end pin jacks, but here is no wiring for PU-less model. Maple on the side is taken quite heavily and seems to be playing a part in the sound makeup.
While the sound sounds crisp and light like f hole mandolin, I feel that the sound is somewhat round compared to the Gibson type one. I think whether it can be used enough even with bluegrass, but as impressions I tried, it seems that matching, like folk music, popular music, etc. is rather good. However, it plays a powerful sound with an all-veneer body, sound pressure feeling, sustain feeling, reverberation feeling is also sufficient, so I think that it is a mandolin that can be used for warm almighty.
Condition of musical instruments is a beautiful condition with few scratches, but there are places where the paint tends to be slightly whitish, although paint is not good at first. Perhaps it seems that the adhesion of the paint on the part touched by hand before painting seems to be bad, and you can see the part which is slightly whitish on the side and the back. In addition, bubbles of paint finely painted as tops can also be confirmed on the head / top. However, it is not so conspicuous, so if you look with the eyes looking at secondhand goods ordinarily, you can say it is a beautiful enough condition.
The neck condition is also good and beautiful straight, the string height in the present condition super high-action which is 1 mm strong on the 1st string side on the 12 frets, 1 mm strong on both sides! Since the elevation of the bridge is almost sticky, we can not lower the string height any more, but it will not be necessary first. You can adjust as much as you want in the upward direction. The frets are slightly marked with strings, and roughly 90% of the height remains approximately.
The case comes with a soft case that is not original over a little oversized.
