Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a rare 1950's era model MS-25 "Professional" Atlas floor stand that has a cast iron 15 inch wide base, two piece retractable chrome stem Made in Brooklyn, NY complete with boom arm and used for all American screw on type microphones. This stand has a minimum of wear and I would rate this stand an easy 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10. This extra heavy duty floor stand was one of Atlas's most expensive and built like a tank. It was designed for professional applications revolving around any type of circumstances one can think of being the 1st generation MS-25 it's one of the hardest to come by. The original chrome on the stems of the stand shows very lite wear as seen in the pics provided. Also, there are zero dings on the chrome base cover with just small scratches as seen in pic # 11. The original Atlas decal is actually very visible despite years of use.  The chrome clutch locking mechanism holds the two stems in place nicely and allows for easy up and down movement when loosened. Stand is adjustable from 38 inches low to 67 inches tall. Tall enough for any user. With the 3 foot boom arm you can get an extra 2 feet of height either upwards or out towards the side of the stand and with the extremely heavy cast iron base and counterweight it's no problem at all. The 3 original felt pads are still present and in excellent condition. The felt pads are a true indication that the base, stem and boom arm are all original to each other and not a Frankenstein patchwork of parts. The cast iron base has original paint with zero chips or scratches. Just a few small scuffs. Unbelievable nice really. Very lite rust stains on the bottom of the base as seen in pic # 12. The cast iron base is extra wide and extra heavy weighing 20 pounds. Twice as heavy as the standard models. Total weight of the stand is 23 pounds. With the boom arm it's about another 9 pounds. This stand is ideal for those extra heavy vintage microphones that you don't want getting knocked over and broken. Your RCA ribbon or Shure 55 "Fatboy" would look great on this MS-25. These MS-25 stands go back to the late 1950's and nothing really changed on them over the years except for the pads on the bottom and the sticker used on the chrome stem...otherwise, they have kept the same overall design. The boom arm is the short version consisting of a single chrome pole. The chrome itself in very nice condition with zero corrosion and just lite scratches. The cast iron counter weight is in very good shape as well and tightly secured. The end of the boom arm has the Atlas adapter for use with all American screw on style microphones. There are zero issue with the joint mechanism and works perfectly. The knob tightens securely on the top and bottom and you can get any degree of tilt to this boom arm needed. Clutch tightens nicely and easily. Not too shabby for a 60 + years old stand and it will certainly steal attention anywhere it's used in the home, office or studio.
