4 Channels of fully functioning API 312 clone circuitry! I used carbon composition resistors to match the original unit. This has Classic API input transformers made by Ed Anderson and output transformers made by CineMag which are wound in California. The power supply is external for optimal noise performance. I can not produce sound samples but this preamp was used on the most recent Devour the Day record for drum overheads if you want to try to listen in some way. Even then, the context may be lost. If you know anything about audio equipment you know you need it in your studio to understand it. The on switch on the front panel is a dummy switch from when I had the PSU inside of the same box. I had to relocate the PSU for optimal performance. - +50dBu of gain from a -40dBu signal from a 150 Ohm source. - Pics of frequency response are in the pictures. The photos show the response of every channel. The first photo is of channels 1 and 2 while the second photo is of channels 3 and 4.- THD + N ratio per channel is when at maximum spec found 0.045%. That's superb! It's fast punchy and thick just like you would expect from API 312s. Don't forget it has the obligatory phantom phase and pad switches.I am a recording studio tech by trade and if this unit fails for you please contact me and I'll be at your service. Ask for my direct contact info upon purchasing this unit. That's all she wrote!
