Among the many Japan vintage brands, Chaki receives hot support from some enthusiastic fans. Among them, the flat top model has a short production period, so there are limitations on the number of individuals on the market, so it is highly popular item!
This arrival is W - 3. It is a Southern Jumbo type of square / shoulder!
According to the catalog of the time, the top is a spruce veneer, SIDE & BACK is a wooden veneer, the neck is a momiji wood, and the fingerboard is an ebony, but, the top is probably a spruce veneer, SIDE & BACK a rosewood plywood, a fingerboard It seems that rosewood is used for bridge and hakaranda is used for bridge. The nut width is actually measured 43.2 mm, the scale is 640 mm, it seems probably from the elliptical paper label, probably in the early 70's.
Sound is a wild and rough cut sound like a chakis! While many Japanese manufacturers at the time were pursuing Martin, I feel that Chaki was aiming for Gibson to the last. The roughness of making (lol) is also Gibson's concession, so the sound that it was crisp due to the rough cutting is a sound full of charm that only comes out in chaki! Like Gibson, it does not matter whether it is veneer or plywood (laugh), it sounds nice! Please feel comfortable wild tone feeling by all means!
There are some remodeling and repairing of the condition of the instrument, but it looks good and it looks pretty as a chaki of this age is a pretty beautiful face. Pickguard is exchanged for wooden things, but on the contrary the atmosphere is really good and it is a good impression. Both ears of the head are originally in contact with trees, but the ears on the 6th string side are peeling off and the tree seems to be hollowed out, and now a tree about 3 mm in width is connected between the ears and the main body It is added. As a result, the back of the head has been refined, but the repair itself is quite polite, there is no discomfort in appearance, there is no worry about strength. The peg is replaced with a glover type thing, and you can check the repair mark of the screw hole filling. On the other hand, scratches are also small on the whole, so when you look at the total, I think that it can be said that it is a pretty beautiful individual for chiki of this age.
The neck condition is also good in general, and the string height in the present condition is set to about 2.2 mm for both the 6-string side and 1st-string side on 12 frets. There is not much room in the saddle, but the 1st string side is adjustable up to about 2.0 mm. Although frets are seen somewhat decreasing, enough height still remains, so you can still use it with confidence.
Although it is somewhat tampered with, it is a pretty beautiful individual in total!
A general-purpose chip board case is attached to the case.
