Vintage Rare Zither In a Green Velvet Lined Case Made By Max Amberger Between 1839-1889. This Zither is in pristine condition,the only item that needs attention is to reattach two of the strings and the handle on the case. The case comes complete with original key and the lock is in perfect working order. It comes with the hand written card directly from the Max Amberger factory/shop in Munich. Also,included is the original step by step guide to setting up,and tuning the Zither and includes a full music manuscript. Munich native Max Mathias Amberger (1839 - 1889) constructed violins, zithers and guitars from his workshop at Müllerstrasse 27a and is credited with constructing the first concert zither. After his passing, the business remained in the family until 1921, when it was purchased by Hermann Hauser.
