A superb, rare German certified violin bow made by Henrich Knopf ca. 1870 in Berlin, branded "H. KNOPF BERLIN". Carl Heinrich Knopf was one of the greatest German bow makers. He made some wonderful bows for important shops of Bausch family and Nikolai Kittel. This is a beautiful, rare gold mounted example in a pristine state of preservation. It is also a fantastic, soloist level violin bow. The stick is excellent dark red brown pernambuco, strong with a perfect flexibility, wonderful sound and a superb handling.The length of the stick is 72.8 cm and the weight of the bow is 53 g with very light and original silk winding.
