Very Rare Vintage 1978 Ibanez Studio ST 1400 Bass/6 Doubleneck Bass GuitarThis is the first version of the first year mentioned on the 1978 Ibanez Catalogue but not showed on pictures.One of the rarest guitars built by Ibanez in the transitional era from the lawsuit and original design times.Only 50 units made and discontinued in 1980.This is a hybrid instrument made with parts from the old and new times of the company.The tuning machines are the same as the old version Double Neck Guitars from the early and mid-70s.The pickups and bridges are from the new series of guitars of the late 70sThe guitar Pickups are the Hot Super 70s very similar in look and sound to a Di Marzio Super Distortion.The Bass Pickup is the Same Super 4 Found in the Flagship Musician Basses of the era.The guitar bridge is the Gibraltar with brass saddles and slotted quick string change tailpiece.The Bass bridge is the Accu-Cast B with Brass Saddles found also on the Musician Basses.The neck on the guitar is slim and comfortable to play and the neck on the bass has a soft V-shape profile similar to certain vintage Fenders.The selector switch between Bass and guitar located between the 2 instruments have been replaced by a dedicated Bass output jack making the instrument Stereo and able to connect to a bass and a guitar amp simultaneously. Controls are Volume and tone for each instrument, one of the control knobs is cracked but original.One of the ferrules of the bass tunes is missing and there's a non-original strap lock located by the guitar side neck plate.Some scratches and dents on the edges of the body. (See Pics) The weight is 5.9 kgs (more than one guitar but less than 2...)Comes with the original Hard Case and the original cream pickup frames and pickup selector knob are included.This are very hard to come by but one in cream colour sold on Reverb last year.
