Description
Brand: Gibson Model: ES-335

1966 Gibson Trini Lopez is cherry finish. 100% original with every solder joint untouched. This is as close to mint as you'll find on a 60's guitar, you would not believe this is over 50 years old! Plays very well with low action and sounds amazing, beautiful tone. Original hard shell case included with key, also in excellent condition. Any inspection welcome. If you are not 100% satisfied I will gladly refund you without question.*Please note that I have just realised that the neck serial number does not match the orange label in the body. I have contacted both Gibson and and Gruhn's and this is their explanation... Tuesday - March 21, 2017Hello Sir,My name is Joe Spann and I coordinate the appraisal team for George Gruhn here at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville.  Your recent e-mail with a question about you Trini Lopez Standard serial number was forwarded to me for a response.
As you know, on the Trini Lopez Standard the serial number appears in two places, one copy die-stamped into the peghead rear and another written on the orange oval label inside the body.
The most probable scenario is that this guitar was completed as far as finish in 1964, but not sold until 1966.The Gibson factory did not complete the Final Assembly on any instrument until just prior to shipping. Many instruments (especially the more obscure models) were released from the Finish Department, then stored in wooden racks without any metal hardware, bridges, nuts, strings, tuners, etc. until they were sold to a dealer.  the delay between storage Then, and only then, did the Final Assembly department add the hardware.  This included the paper serial number label.
