Iconic Yamaha SG700S solid body electric guitar in beautiful antique tobacco sunburst. Two humbuckers with volume and tone for each pickup and coil splitting for additoinal tonality via push-push tone knobs.The setup is great with low action, it has a lovely neck and terrific tone. As expected with a guitar of this age there are some marks and dings to the finish but nothing serious. The woodwork itself, of the body and neck, is in excellent condition and all the elctrics work perfectlyThe serial number on the back of the headstock (pictured) is 8FL1068 and the 8 dates it to 1998. (see here: http://mycoolguitars.com/mij/yamaha-guitars/yamaha-guitar-serial-numbers-dating-your-guitar/)The SG series was originally a direct competitor to the Gibson Les Paul with a maple-capped mahogony body but it's styling soon made it an iconic guitar in its own right. Played by many famous guitarists from Santana to the Sex Pistols. This is a lovely instrument made at the time when Japan was excelling itself in guitar production and it should make a great investment as well as a lovely instrument to play. I'm selling because I have a dozen other guitars and this one doesn't get the attention it deserves.Collection is welcome.
