This year marks the 120th anniversary of Gibson. In 2006, the Gibson Custom Shop along with the Hendrix Estate designed an exact reproduction of Jimi Hendrix's hand painted 1967 Gibson Psychedelic Flying V. This collectible guitar #198 of 300 offers unsurpassed playability and classic tone. The instrument features detailed artwork recreated to exact specifications by master luthier and artist Bruce Kunkel as part of the Gibson Custom Shop "Inspired by" series. Purchased by Jimi Hendrix in 1967 and used on tour throughout Europe in 1967 and 1968, the guitar was distinguished by Jimi's own psychedelic hand painted artwork on the top and sides of the guitar. Originally painted with what appears to be nail polish, the Gibson Custom Shop has sourced and used materials which reproduce the same sense of depth and texture of this one of a kind artwork, while maintaining the strictest standards in creating faithful reproductions of all of the original Flying V's materials and hardware. #198 is a mint condition, collectible piece of history. It has NEVER been played and the case is also perfect condition. This is the one if you are a Hendrix fan and know quality. This is the most beautiful guitar you will ever see and purchased by me March 24, 2006 and maintained in the case, boxed and in a temperature controlled non-smoking environment. Specifications: - Includes NEW/MINT custom shop case issued with the instrument (teal velvet), all documentation including certificate of authenticity, 2 custom Jim Hendrix straps and all original tags and stickers
