This is a pretty insane package for anyone looking for the whole shabang, ready to go out of the box...er, crate. Please read alllll of this! There's a deal at the end.I'm upgrading my whole system so it's time to say goodbye to these fabulous babies. They both work fantastically. Both have meter bridges and appropriate cables.I just can't tell you how much fun it's been learning these things and - after exhaustively searching for consoles that are a) interfaces with inboard pre's and AD converters and b) control surfaces for Logic (and the rest), with motorized faders, this is one of the few that exist.I had a CUSTOM cascade cable (marries the two consoles) made bc you cannot buy them ANYWHERE. It comes in the box as well. The cascade connection makes the two consoles share all processes except actually passing audio from to another. Your channel layers are connected with this set up and you now 48 per layer and ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY EIGHT channels all together. PLUS you have a DAW controller with 48 faders visual at a time. (But will control infinity chanels by simply scrolling to the next "bank" of 8 channels.) In cascade configuration, both consoles share aux channels and busses. Plus so so so much more....I suggest reading around about these boards in "cascade mode"For audio sharing, and passing to DAW from both consoles at once....3 TDIF Cables come with the purchase. (note: regular 25 pin cables are not the same and will not work). These 3 cables link the 2 consoles' audio inputs so that audio can be seamlessly passed bidirectionally between the consoles, Same with effects sends and returns. Tascam DM consoles are all about the add-on cards in the back. These two come with three great cards.1) FireWire card. 32 channels in and out to your DAW over FireWire. Essential. And very hard to find. (Just as an FYI, you can add a lot more than 32 I/O's into your computer by using the TDIF ports into a MOTU, or, like I do since I use the TDIF's for connecting the consoles, use the ADAT ports with a hammerfall adat interface. Total could be 70!!)2) 2 if-AN/DM 8 channel analog expansion cards. This brings your XLR/1/4inch inputs/outputs to SIXTY FOUR. these I/o's do not have pre's (unlike the 24 per console inboard on the consoles). I use my collection of outboard pre's to power these 16 inputs. The inboard effects suite in these boards is fantastic, as is the fat channel. Each console has 12 autonomous aux channels and 24 busses. (X2=24 and 48)This really is the digital rig of your dreams. And I will ship for free/the shipping is included in the listing price. I've had a ton of fun learning the routing options with them. It's endless. Touch of a button and you can make anything go anywhere. Disclaimer is that there is a bit of a learn curve to them at first but once you get going, man it is incredible. Ok let's break down the value of this deal.Tascam DM 4800, used on eBay = ~$2000 each = $40002 Meter bridges plus cable = ~$600Cascade cable = $300FireWire card = $6002 AN/DM cards = $8003 TDIF cables = $150Shipping = $550Total = $7,000I'm asking for $4900, $500 of which will go to my shipping cost. No there's no catch. so that's the deal. AND!... round up to $5500 (make an offer) and I will throw in....---2 50 foot 12 channel xlr snakes with 4 xlr returns $300 value---4(FOUR) 25 pin breakout connectors/snakes for connecting xlr cables to the 2 AN/DM cards. 2 male, 2 female... $300++ valueMy time and attention over skype for the first two weeks as you set up and begin to attempt routing the inputs, outputs, and sources and terminals for this beast. This add on is freaking priceless, ask ANYONE who's ever set up a DM.Message me if you have more questions.
