Description Exact Year: 1952 String Configuration: 6 String Brand: Gibson Body Type: Solid Model: Les Paul Standard
SummaryBody: Mahogany with a maple capNeck: Mahogany neck with a medium “C” profile, 1 11/16” wide nut, Brazilian rosewood fretboard, 12” radius, and trapezoid inlaysPickups/Hardware: Kluson Deluxe tuners, two humbuckers (rated at 7.7 kOhms in the neck and 8.2 k in the bridge), three-way pickup selector switch, independent volume and tone controlsCosmetic Condition: Here we have a Gibson Les Paul, 1952–1960 conversion. What this means is that this legendary guitar was initially a 1952 Goldtop, that later had the figured maple top installed and was converted to a 1960 Les Paul. The body has a fair share of small nicks and dents and plenty of gorgeous checking lines. The binding and edges have a bit of wear and the back has sizable buckle rash, although none of this effects the feel or playability The neck shows checking lines, but is otherwise smooth and glossy and feels great. The headstock has some edgewear but no signs of break or fracture. This Gibson Les Paul is as close as you can get to a $250,000 1960 Les Paul.Playability: The strings are nice and low, play great, and ring out clearly across the board.Modifications/Repairs: Guitar was originally a ’52 Les Paul Goldtop. Lay’s Guitar Repair converted it to a 1960 style guitar by adding a flamed maple top. The guitar has been refretted and the binding has been replaced. Guitar was later refinished more accurately by Historic Makeovers in Florida. Later, these authentic vintage parts were added: Never opened, stickered PAF pickups, ABR-1, Lightweight tailpiece, Knobs, 1959 tuners and wiring harness with 1961 pots and vintage caps. The pickup rings are from an 80s Heritage era Les Paul. The nut has been replaced.Weight: 8lbs 1oz
