Sébastien Erard pianos were the most favourite piano brand in the 18th and 19th century by many famous composers such as Ludwig Van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, Giuseppe Verdi etc.Many well known classical music compositions were made on Sébastien Erard pianos. This piano is an original Paris make Sébastien Erard made in 1907 and sold to Istanbul during Ottoman period and well preserved untill today. (Erard pianos were introduced to Ottoman Empire in 1847 by Franz Liszt himself. Sébastien Erard produced a special piano for his concerts in Istanbul in 1847 and Erard brand became popular ever since among the Sultans and wealthy people of Istanbul) But unfortunately there is no information about the history of this piano before 1989 and used at a restaurant for dinner music. In 2014 piano is restored by an expert team in Ankara. Actually very minor changes were made during this restoration such as the strings, paint and wheel bolts because the condition of the piano was very good and did not need much repair. Plays and sounds well.
