I am selling my Joe Foley wide body mandolin. I have owned it since 2010. It was handmade by Joe Foley in Dublin in 2004.The body is larger than for normal mandolins, so it really cuts through in sessions. Body width is 32cm, depth 8cm, total length of mandolin is 66cm. Scale length is 36cm at the G string. This is a professional grade instrument, made from the finest tonewoods and with excellent decoration and purfling. It has Schaller tuners. It is in excellent condition. The only noticeable blemish is a small dent in the purfling on the treble bout. This is very minor, not structural, and I have tried to show it in the sixth photo. If you're reading this listing you will probably know all about Joe Foley. Suffice it to say that he is probably the most sought after stringed instrument maker in Ireland.The mandolin comes with its original hard shell case, also hand made in Dublin, by renowned case maker Mike Mullen. This instrument does not have a pickup.I will hand-deliver up to 50 miles, otherwise will send this by courier within UK and Republic of Ireland at a fixed cost of £25.
